 1.'Masonic' Email Scam

We have previously warned about two email scams claiming to be from the "Freemasons of Winchester and Bournemouth" offering shares in a Masonic Charity payout. New scams are appearing claiming to be from a Grand Lodge of England with an email address including "grandlodgeofengland". That is not an address used by the United Grand Lodge of England. The UGLE itself does not offer charity payments and our Masonic Charities do not make unsolicited offers of assistance by email to anyone. The offers being made by email are a scam to gain access to an individual's bank details. They have been reported to the appropriate authorities.

'Masonic' Email Scam Update  (02.09.2007)

The internet scams in which emails are sent out to individuals informing them that they have been chosen as recipients of a major pay out from Masonic charitable funds have been re - appearing with a new twist.

They are being sent out as if from one of our Provinces and are "signed" with the name of the actual Provincial Grand Secretary. The email address and other contact details under the name of the Provincial Grand Secretary, however, are not those of the Province or its Secretary!

As with other internet scams ------- hit your delete button!

3. A daily advancement within easy reach

The Sutton Coldfield Study Circle, established in 1952, meets four times a year at the Masonic Hall in Mill Street Sutton Coldfield. Its principal objective is to allow its members to make a daily advancement in Masonic knowledge. In this respect members and guest speakers deliver lectures and talks on the first Monday in February, June, October and December. An offshoot of the Circle is the well-known Demonstration Team whom many of us have had the pleasure of seeing as its members take us back to the 18th Century and Freemasonry of that era. Budding actors and ritualists are need to swell the numbers of the Team. If you are interested please contact the Secretary, Brian Brown, on 0121 682 4682 or brianjillbrown@blueyonder.co.uk

4. 2012 Festival

So far we have raised £1,729,702.63 (31 December 2009)

Elkington Lodge has been very generous with it's contributions - Long may we continue to do so.

5.   Presentation Gavels:

Good News:  No Less than 9 lodges in the province have exceeded their 2012 festival donation targets, amongst them Elkington Lodge.   As a result of this all 7 lodges were presented with a Gavel.   The Gavel for Elkington Lodge was presented to the Worshipful Master  Alan Reeves at  a meeting at Installed Masters Lodge 4538 on 30th September 2008 by W.Bro. David F Macey, Assistant Provincial Grand  Master, who is the Director of the Festival.
Keep up the good work Elkington Lodge.
